About Twixxr

Background

In light of the recent focus on Trump's history of abuse of women and the ongoing harassment of women on Twitter, I decided to build a service that made it easier to amplify women's voices on Twitter. While 69 percent of my followers are men, only 31 percent are women. I can't change that overnight. However, I can build a service that helps me discover and follow more prominent women and share their ideas.

Twixxr is designed to help you populate your Twitter account with more women and broaden the thoughts, ideas and community you're exposed to on Twitter.

I built this initial Twixxr service over a few long days of work. It runs on the Yii Framework which I write about for Envato Tuts+. If you're a PHP programmer, I encourage you to check it out. You can learn more about me at my website or follow me on Twitter.
